Artists

The topics represented in the Collection are just as manifold as the generations of the artists included. Leading contemporary photographers such as Stephen Shore, Bernd and Hilla Becher and their students – among them Andreas Gursky, Candida Höfer, Thomas Ruff, Jörg Sasse and Axel Hütte – enter into a dialogue with the newer works of young photographic artists such as Slawomir Elsner, Katja Eckert and Tobias Zielony. They are supplemented by extensive groups of works from documentary and reporting photography. The collection presents several works of each artist allowing the artist’s individual imagery to be fully appreciated.
