Group company: Deutsche Börse AG Department: Marketing Communication Function: Employee Main responsibility: Writing, editing and publishing Working for the Group since January 2007 Four questions for Andreas von Brevern In what positive respect does Deutsche Börse Group set itself apart from other companies? It has over 100 times more employees that my last employer. The job has high and challenging standards, and pays very well. The canteen has equally high standards. The meals are great and the variety is enormous. How was your first day in our company? I arrived at the Neue Börse quite early in the morning and waited patiently in the reception area because I didn’t have an access card yet. A colleague then let me in and I got myself a pass. I noticed a sand box on the floor of the security office where the guards discharge their guns, so I entered with all due respect. Lunch in the canteen later was sensationally good. All my colleagues were friendly and prepared to help me. The rest of the day I familiarised myself with Lotus Notes, explored the department’s computer drive, where we store all our documents, and learned the processes of our corporate magazine “1585”. How would you describe the working atmosphere at Deutsche Börse Group? The working atmosphere is very friendly and relatively relaxed. It is extremely professional at all levels, employees are very intelligent and know exactly what they are doing, which I find very motivating. In order to build a network it is best to go to lunch with other employees. In Luxembourg, the working atmosphere is even more international than in Frankfurt, you can hear at least three different languages being spoken at any given time. What was the biggest challenge you had to deal with so far at Deutsche Börse Group? What has been your personal highlight? In “1585”, Deutsche Börse Group’s corporate magazine, there is a “Guide” section, which features clients and the cities they live in. For one issue I visited a customer in Athens and wrote the article. It was an exciting trip where I also learned a lot about how the photographer works. |
