Group company: Deutsche Börse Systems AG Department: IT-Consulting Function: Employee Main responsibility: Application development and data architecture Working for the Group since October 2007 Four questions for Mudiaga Obada Please give a brief outline of your education and career to date. After studying computer science at Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt, I worked in IT consultancy before joining Deutsche Börse Group as an external consultant in 2006. Within a year of first coming into contact with Deutsche Börse Group, I decided to join Deutsche Börse Systems as an employee. What kind of image did you have of Deutsche Börse Group beforehand and how do you see the company now? Initially I had the feeling that you had to be a “great” expert to accomplish anything here. Now I see that it is the teamwork of individual experts that makes great things possible. What advice would you give candidates who would like to join our company? To work at Deutsche Börse Group, you really need to be efficient and be able to take on a wide variety of tasks. You should also have the right level of aptitude and initiative to be able to feel comfortable here. But you don’t need to be intimidated by the Group’s technology strengths either – it’s people who work here and not machines. Please tell us something about yourself. What do you do outside work (hobbies, involvement in the community etc.)? I do sport for fun, especially basketball, football and ice skating. For some extra fitness I work out regularly and occasionally go jogging. Guided by my emotions, I also love composing music and writing lyrics. |
