Born in 1987 School leaving qualification: High school leaving certificate Training as clerk for office communication Three questions for Sascha Hocke What image did you have of Deutsche Börse Group beforehand and how do you see the company now? Before my training, Deutsche Börse Group was somewhere where shares were traded, actually the word “Group” is almost wrong because I only knew of Deutsche Börse AG from television – just the trading floor. Now I’ve learned what a huge variety of activities Deutsche Börse Group does, and that the exchange’s activities include much more, and not just the cash market. How was your first day in our company? My first day at work was very exciting – it was all completely new. I had lots of new impressions that I really had to digest in peace at the end of the day. First I met my trainers, then I got to know my first department, the employees and gradually what my job involved and the systems. At lunchtime, there was a lunch for all the trainees, and I had a trainee alongside me all day. I rapidly got used to it and relaxed as the day went on. Please tell us something about yourself. What do you do outside work (hobbies, involvement in the community etc.)? I need sport to compensate for being office-based every day. So I go to the Fitness Company every week – the Börse pays a portion of my monthly subscription. Otherwise I meet up with friends, meet new people and at the weekend I also like going out. |
