Group company: Deutsche Börse AG Department: Market Data & Analytics Function: Employee Main responsibility: Product Design/Index Functionality Working for the Group since May 2001 Four questions for Gerriet Scholle Please give a short overall statement on working at Deutsche Börse Group. Work at Deutsche Börse is characterised by flat hierarchical structures and the openness of employees. Working independently in a DAX® company in a permanent state of change in an international environment is simply good fun. Please give a brief outline of your education and career to date. I took my high school diploma in 1991 in Hamm (Westphalia) and trained as a banking clerk 1992-1995 at Dresdner Bank AG in Dortmund. From 1995 to 2000 I studied for an economics degree at the Albert Ludwigs University in Freiburg (Breisgau). This included being an exchange student at the Madison Business School in Madison (Wisconsin) in 1997/1998. After graduating I joined Deutsche Börse AG in 2001. What made you decide on Deutsche Börse Group as an employer in the end? The international reputation and importance of the stock exchange in the financial markets played a big role in my decision. The helpful and friendly working atmosphere, the flat organisational structure and the fact that what I do is close to what I learned during my degree are other factors. Last but not least, Frankfurt – “in the heart of Germany” – is an attractive place to be. What was the biggest challenge you had to deal with so far at Deutsche Börse Group? What has been your personal highlight? The biggest challenge so far was the launch of over 750 iBoxx® sterling bond indices in March 2002 that ‘saw the light of day’ after almost nine months of development. The extensive planning, countless customer meetings, as well as data mining and testing, were great fun. |
