With its product and service portfolio, Deutsche Börse offers its participants the entire process chain from trading and settlement to the safekeeping of securities. The electronic trading system Xetra® is one of the world’s most high-performance systems for the trading of around 350,000 international instruments. These include: - the 30 blue-chip securities of the DAX® index
- the 30 securities of the technology sector which are included in the TecDax®
- the 50 securities of the mid-cap index MDAX®
- the 50 securities of the small-cap index SDAX®
- more than 400 ETFs and ETCs
- the securities from the Xetra Stars segment that covers around 80 percent of the securities from the Dow Jones EURO STOXX 50®, the so-called European Stars as well as the US Stars which include securities from the DowJones Industrial Average 30.
| Moreover, other selected securities from the Dow Jones EURO STOXX 50® index as well as round about 9,000 foreign securities can be traded on Xetra. The minimum order size for all securities is one share. Less liquid securities are traded in an auction which takes place once a day. Xetra has a market share of over 90 percent in equity trading and is one of the fastest trading systems in the world with a round-trip-time at only two milliseconds. Apart from shares, all banks and securities trading houses, which participate in Xetra trading in 18 countries, have direct access to about 280,000 structured products of Scoach. Financial institutions, securities trading houses and brokers can participate in Xetra trading. Xetra operates independently of the trader's location, permitting international participation. In fact, more than 130 participants from European countries outside Germany trade on Xetra.
