Prerequisites for Trader Admission

Any person that shall be authorized to trade at FWB® Frankfurter Wertpapierbörse (the Frankfurt Stock Exchange) on behalf of a member needs to be admitted by the Frankfurt Stock Exchange as exchange trader first.

The number of traders of an Exchange Participant is not limited, but all Exchange participants must have at least one admitted trader in order to comply with the Frankfurt Stock Exchange membership requirements.

In order to fulfil the admission requirements of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, at least one trader per company must, however, be admitted. Furthermore, admission as an exchange trader is only possible for one company admitted. If an exchange trader changes over to another company, the trader admission linked to the first company must be returned by written notification and a new exchange trader admission must be applied for by the new company.

Persons who are to be entitled to trade at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange for an admitted company in accordance with § 36 of the FWB Exchange Rules must be reliable and have the necessary skills.

A. For the purpose of proof of admission requirements according to the Admission Regulation for Exchange Traders at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, the following documents and evidence must be enclosed with the application for admission:

1. Application for Admission as exchange Trader at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (application form).

2. The following documents have to be enclosed with the application as evidence of personal reliability:

a) complete, signed curriculum vitae containing all first names, the maiden name, date of birth, place of birth and nationality (attachment to trader application).

b) Declaration personal reliability pursuant to section 2 of the Admission Regulation for Exchange Traders at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (application form).

3. For proof of professional qualification (expertise and practical experience), the following documents have to be enclosed with the application:

Expertise:

a) Copy of the exam certificate according to section 3 paragraph 3 of the Admission Regulation of a successfully passed Trader Examination at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange within the two years prior to the time of application

b) Admission at the FWB during the last 2 years for at least 12 months at the beginning of the application

Practical experience:

a) Proof of successful participation in a functional system training according to section 16 of the Admission Regulation for Exchange Traders at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange

b) Proof of participation in trading at an exchange or multilateral trading system during a period of at least six months within the two years prior the time of application.

The registration for the trader Examination at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and the functional system training is only possible if the admission as Exchange trader at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange has been applied for at the same time.

B. Change of an Exchange Trader to another admitted company:

In case an FWB Exchange Trader changes to another admitted company, such trader has two possibilities to confirm his expertise, either by proving he has successfully passed the FWB Trader Examination or that he was admitted as a trader for his previous company for at least 12 months during the last 2 years. Furthermore, a formless confirmation of the applicant's practical experience in trading for at least 6 months in the last 2 years is required.
