Five questions for Franziska Fischer

Please give a short overall statement about your training at Deutsche Börse Group.

It’s hard to describe the training programme at Deutsche Börse in just one word. It is fun, shows you how diverse a training program can be and that the stock exchange does much more than many people think.

What kind of image did you have of Deutsche Börse Group beforehand and how do you see the company now?

I didn’t really have a particular image of the stock exchange beforehand. Of course everyone has something to say about the company. When I told people that I was doing my training at Deutsche Börse, they’d immediately say: “Ah, so now we know where we can get good shares at a reasonable price.” But I quickly realised that it comprises a huge complex of departments and employees and that it is not just about shares. Today I see Deutsche Börse Group as a multicultural company with lots of good opportunities for development, training and learning new things.

In your opinion, what makes Deutsche Börse Group attractive for trainees?

In my opinion, it’s simply THE company of the future. It’s dynamic, successful and offers a huge number of opportunities for advancement. On top of this, the company benefits are so much better than average that they’re quite overwhelming.
I also think that the training program shows that Deutsche Börse Group is not inapproachable but that it is a “people company” that offers young people here in Germany a future.

What advice would you give school students interested in a training program at Deutsche Börse Group?

Just be yourself. Act just as you are, with your strengths and weaknesses – because no one’s perfect, not even at Deutsche Börse Group. Just apply and give it a go. It worked for me.

What other things do you think it might interest us to know?

I’m really enjoying the training. I also enjoy going into the office – so far, anyway. But I don’t think that will change. Of course everyone has a bad day from time to time. I do, but they pass. I feel really good being at Deutsche Börse Group as everyone’s very friendly and immediately made me part of the office community.
