Deutsche Börse and Eurex publish White Paper
“The Global Derivatives Market – A Blueprint for Market Safety and Integrity” discusses the current political and regulatory debate in both the U.S. and Europe on how to better safeguard financial market stability as one of the necessary consequences of the financial crisis.
Since 18 August, four more exchange-traded index funds from the provider ETF Securities have been tradable on Xetra. With the strategy index funds investors can reap double-leverage benefits from the positive or negative performance of the blue chip indices DAX and Dow Jones EURO STOXX 50.

Eurex to Launch Futures on Italian Government Bonds
Eurex extends its range in benchmark fixed income products offering more opportunities to trade the European yield curve. The new Euro-BTP (Buoni del Tesoro Poliennali) Futures will be based on notional long-term debt bonds of the Republic of Italy.
Eurex Credit Clear Clears First Single Name CDS Worldwide
Eurex Credit Clear as the first central counterparty (CCP) in the world successfully cleared a single name credit default swap (CDS). The cleared transaction had a notional value of €5 million, the single name CDS is based on RWE.
In September, Deutsche Börse has decided about the new composition of its selection indices. The share of Infineon will replace the share of Hannover Rück in DAX.
Effective 21 September, new weights will apply in the German equity indices as well as in ÖkoDAX, the strategy indices and the international indices of Deutsche Börse. In DivDAX 4 new shares will be included.
An unscheduled adjustment has been made to the free float of IDS Scheer AG in the TecDAX®. Due to the takeover of IDS Scheer AG by SAG Beteiligungs GmbH, the free float of the TecDAX member altered by more than 10 percent.
The opening of the new branch is one of a number of initiatives and actions designed to improve substantially Clearstream services in the Asia-Pacific region.
In August 2009, the value of assets under custody held on behalf of customers registered an increase for the sixth consecutive month and stood at €10.5 trillion. Primarily due to lower equity market valuations the assets under custody are still 4 percent lower than in August 2008.

Deutsche Börse Group has selected IBM high speed messaging technology to become part of its all new technology infrastructure. The new infrastructure will be the backbone for all of the Group’s exchanges.

The Deutsche Börse IT Conference 2009 is the meeting for IT executives in the financial industry. Participants will be discussing the future of IT at exchange organizations. Following numerous requests from market participants Eurex offers a one-week course which trains participants in derivatives trading. Upon passing the final Certified Eurex Trader Exam, participants receive the title “Certified Eurex Exchange Trader”.The next course in London will be held from 12 - 16 October.
