Expansion of Fund Trading on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange

Trading in actively managed mutual funds started on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange on 19 May 2006. Around 3,100 funds are now tradable on all regular trading days from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m., and with no front-load fee. The exchange has nominated two fund specialists, with a similar role to lead brokers, to assume responsibility for price determination and liquidity management. This role has been taken by DBM Deutsche Börsenmakler Gmbh and N.M. Fleischhacker AG, who are obliged to comply with high quality standards. Private investors benefit from narrow spreads, with low differences between buy and sell prices.

Compared with competitors, Börse Frankfurt provides real-time trading data for fund trading. Up-to-date trading fund prices and detailed product information is available at the Börse Frankfurt Website.

Maximum spreads and guaranteed volume

Deutsche Börse has established minimum quotation levels between €20,000 and €100,000 and maximum spreads between 0.5% and 2% for trading in mutual funds, further ensuring the highest possible price quality. The two nominated fund specialists ensure continuous real-time quotation of funds, offering the greatest level of transparency, liquid trading with low transaction costs.

Deutsche Börse extends to mutual funds established evaluation and monitoring of quality standards currently in place for equity trading, further demonstrating its commitment to exchange trading quality.

Deutsche Börse has been active in exchange trading of funds since the launch of the XTF segment for exchange-traded index funds in April 2000. It has since developed into Europe's leading marketplace for exchange-traded funds (ETFs). 117 index funds are currently tradable in XTF, and assets under management reached a new record of €32.3 billion at the end of March 2006. Trading volume was €6.2 billion in March 2006.

Investors can trade in funds using their established bank, with the ease of access currently available for equity trading, and trade using established order types, such as Market Order, Limit Order and Stop Order.
