Corporate Citizenship – Education and Science

We understand our work in the field of education and science as the sponsorship of both school and further education institutions for young people to receive training as well as the support of academic institutions and events. We feel it is important to shoulder responsibility for training young people and to invest in research and teaching in schools and universities in cooperation with educational institutions. To this end, we rely on the multiplier function of reputed professorships in finance and economics. In return, we are in part able to place our own staff on the training programs.

Focus

We concentrate our efforts on supporting universities, faculties, professorships, and research projects which focus on finance and capital markets. Moreover, we promote innovative education concepts and academic projects of relevance for the entire Deutsche Börse Group.

Projects

In collaboration with the Goethe Business School in Frankfurt, a foundation run under the auspices of Frankfurt University and closely linked to the Economics and Business Administration Faculty, and Duke University (USA), a high-level postgraduate course with an international gearing for managerial staff (Duke Goethe Executive MBA) is offered. Deutsche Börse Group staff members can attend the course free of charge.

Furthermore, the Group supports the Erasmus-von-Rotterdam School which was founded in 2006 by Lehrerkooperative e.V. in Frankfurt. The only trilingual primary school of its kind in Germany also has a trilingual kindergarten and provides full day care facilities.

The Group also supports a course in European law at Humboldt European Law School. The Humboldt University in Berlin, the University of London and the Université Paris 2 offer an integrated degree course for students of law – the only one of its kind to date. It provides instruction in European law and the legal systems of the three participating nations – Germany, France and Great Britain.

Once a year, St. Anne’s College, Oxford University awards the Eurex/Deutsche Börse Group Scholarship supported by the Group. The Scholarship is for students who would not otherwise have the financial means to study in Oxford.
