J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge 2016

J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge 2016

15 Jun 2016

Some 400 Deutsche Börse Group staff on the starting line

15 June 2016 saw the 24th edition of the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge take place in downtown Frankfurt. About 70,000 sports enthusiasts from some 2,600 companies pounded the streets of the city – among them around 400 employees from Deutsche Börse Group.

As in the previous year, Olympic figure skating champion Katarina Witt and Dorothee Blessing, Head of J.P. Morgan Germany, sounded the gun for the 5.6 km loop through the city, which took the amateur athletes from Hochstraße to Senckenberganlage. The charity run raised about €245,500 for the Deutsche Sporthilfe foundation and the Behindertensportjugend in aid of sports for the disabled.

Team spirit is one of the fundamental mainstays in the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge. Deutsche Börse Group has evidently embraced the idea:  the company  equipped the runners with t-shirts printed with this year’s slogan “The run solution”, paid their entry fees and supplied them with drinks. The importance of team spirit and support on all levels of the Group was also demonstrated by CEO Carsten Kengeter, who participated in the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge for the first time this year.

According to the organisers, the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge is the biggest corporate race in the world and the biggest running event of its kind in Europe.
