 It is of utmost importance to us to reconcile our economic success with social requirements and engage in activities in our immediate environment to promote our good corporate citizenship. Our activities focus on the areas education and research, culture as well as social projects. As varied as our activities are, they have the central objective of improving the future prospects of young people and supporting highly innovative ideas and creative concepts. The projects are selected, supervised and evaluated by our Corporate Responsibility unit in close cooperation with the respective departments. An even stronger focus on our promotional key areas, the increasing internationalisation of our events as well as the review and adjustment of our social commitment are at the centre of our Corporate Responsibility efforts. All charitable donations are subject to the standards of the Group-wide guidelines for social commitment [.pdf] which were passed by the executive board. They set a mandatory framework for the direction and proper handling of benefits. Education and research: improving future opportunities Based on the lifelong learning concept, we give targeted support to projects from primary school through to university and advanced studies. Our employees are personally involved to a large degree in education and science, and thus allow young people to share their knowledge and experience. Culture: promoting creativity As part of our efforts to promote culture, we support various institutions and projects that deal with or present fine arts and music. Contemporary photography is at the heart of our involvement in art; our cornerstone is the Deutsche Börse Art Collection. Social involvement: demonstrating commitment Be it through the active involvement of our employees or financially through donations, we give targeted, international and unbureacratic support to selected social organisations and relief projects.
