Relevant knowledge, skills and experience

Andreas Gottschling has extensive and in-depth knowledge of risk management within internationally active banks and other financial services institutions. The theoretical foundation for this was laid by his studies in mathematics, physics and economics in Freiburg and at Harvard University in Cambridge, USA. Since 1997, he holds a PhD in economics from the University of California San Diego. Mr. Gottschling served as Chief Risk Officer and a member of the Executive Board at Erste Group Bank AG, Vienna, from 2013 to 2016. From 2017 to 2021, he was a member of the Board of Directors of Credit Suisse Group in Zurich, where he held the Chairmanship for the Risk Committee and was a member of the Audit Committee. Due to his current and previous roles, Mr. Gottschling also has in-depth knowledge of accounting and auditing. Mr. Gottschling has been a member of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Börse AG since 2020 and is a member of the Audit and Risk Committee and the Technology Committee.
