Release date: May 07, 2026

At Deutsche Börse Group, building a successful career is about more than just tasks and responsibilities. It’s about continuous growth, unwavering support, and a vibrant, inclusive community. Our culture is built on the belief that when our people thrive, our business thrives. From internal mobility and mentorship programs to a deep-rooted sense of global community, our employees highlight an environment designed to nurture talent and foster collaboration. We spoke with professionals across our business to discover what makes Deutsche Börse Group a unique and fulfilling place to work.

How does the Group foster career development and internal mobility?

A common thread in our conversations was the wealth of opportunities for learning and advancement. Whether through formal programs or on-the-job experience, our employees feel empowered to steer their own careers, explore new areas, and grow with the company.

Valentina Alla, Business Strategy

Valentina, working in strategy and transformation, began her journey in the graduate program, which she credits for its broad exposure. “It’s great that this company offers learning and management programs like this one,” she says, “it allows you to see lots of different things, lots of different areas within the company and acquire both skills based on the nature of the teams you joined, and soft skills coming from the fact that you get to interact with lots of different people, work with different colleagues on a variety of topics.”

This commitment to growth extends throughout an employee’s tenure. John, Head of Global Funds Operations Asset Services at Clearstream with more than 20 years of experience at the Group, notes, “I found that the company certainly engages a lot in terms of ensuring employees are happy in their jobs, happy in their roles.” He emphasizes the variety of opportunities available, adding, “where I've done something for a few years, there’s always something else to do.”

Wesley, who works in project management, offers a concrete example of this internal mobility. His desire to learn more about the Group led him to a new team. “The service and quality improvement team gave me the opportunity to learn more about the Group, more about how the operations work and get involved and learn about different stakeholders,” he explains.

Elodie, a Business Manager and Head of Unit, sums up the value of these opportunities. She highlights the availability of mentoring, coaching, talent programs and states, “what I value the most internally is the mobility that we have. You can never really get bored or get stuck in your career in-house. As long as you work hard and well, people will notice you and the next steps will come naturally.”

What makes the culture at Deutsche Börse Group supportive and inclusive?

Dafni Maria Vasilikari, Head of Customer Life Cycle Management

Beyond formal programs, our employees consistently point to the human element of our culture. They describe an environment that defies the “cold corporate” stereotype, instead characterized by flat hierarchies, open communication, and genuine community.

Dafni, a Team Lead in Customer Lifecycle Management, was pleasantly surprised by the Group’s work culture. “The biggest misconception I had for the Group was that I expected people to be very cold, very strict,” she admits, “and even though we are very serious about what we do, our approach and our attitude and our mindset are very different.”

This approachable atmosphere is supported by the organizational structure. “We are communicating in a very flat hierarchy. There are no barriers,” declares Elodie. “We are sitting next to each other, and we align every morning before we start the day on pain points.”

Benedikt, who works in the Treasury Front Office, felt this welcoming spirit from day one. “I think that everyone is very open at the company and making sure that you settle as smoothly and as quickly as possible,” he recalls.

This openness translates into a safe space for questions and learning. In Ruth’s experience, “there’s always open communication. Everybody is asking each other questions. And your question is not a stupid question here. What's really nice about working at Deutsche Börse Group is that everybody communicates with each other. There's always a great sense of team spirit here, a great sense of community.”

How do global reach and diverse backgrounds contribute to team success?

Elodie Putz, Head of Business Management

With offices and colleagues around the world, our international presence is more than just a map – it’s a strategic advantage. This diversity of backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives enriches our teams, fosters creativity, and enhances our ability to solve complex problems together.

Wesley sees this diversity as a core part of his daily job, requiring adaptability and empathy. “I deal with so many different people on so many different levels and put myself in people’s shoes, to understand where they come from. And people are so different that you have to shape yourself to manage their expectations and to understand what they want.”

Julian, a Data Analyst in Sales Operations, describes his team as truly global. “We have different nationalities on our teams. We are an international team.” This structure enables a continuous workflow, where “if somebody from Australia or from the US reaches out to me during the night in Germany, then I see it on the next day and I can directly work on it.”

Varun, a Data Engineer located in Cork, highlights how this global collaboration directly leads to innovative solutions. He describes a project where his team worked with colleagues in the US to automate regulatory checks: “It was my role to act as kind of a business analyst explaining what the rules are. And then my counterpart in the statistics team would implement the technological solution for automating it.”

Ultimately, Deutsche Börse Group stands as a testament to the power of a people-first culture. By prioritizing talent development, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment, and embracing its global diversity, the Group not only cultivates individual success but also strengthens its collective ability to innovate and lead the financial industry forward. It is this powerful combination of personal growth and shared purpose that truly defines Deutsche Börse Group.
