Interest rate derivatives showing strongest growth

Marketdata trading

Total traded derivatives contracts at Eurex grew by 14 percent in April, from 119.7 million to 136.8 million compared to the same month last year. Interest rate derivatives showed the strongest year-on-year growth, up 21 percent to 49.2 million contracts, total contracts traded in equity derivatives grew by 6 percent.

Deutsche Börse’s cash markets generated a turnover of €150.3 billion in April. €126.5 billion were attributable to Xetra, bringing the average daily Xetra trading volume to €6.7 billion. Trading volumes on Börse Frankfurt were €2.9 billion.
